Safety switches are used to detect the opening of machine guard doors, gates or panels and to prevent physical access to dangerous areas of the machine. Safety switches are designed to help deter tampering with either the internal machine controls or guards while in an unsafe condition.

All mechanical safety switches are equipped with positive opening contacts that open any normally closed contacts to assure machine shutdown when an unsafe condition is detected.

Safety switches are furnished completely assembled, ready to mount to the machine.

The normally closed contacts of this switch are forced open as a follower slides down the slot in the lever arm. The rotating force of a machine guard opens the switch contacts, turning off the control power.

The rope-operated safety switches are installed on machines or belts, enabling the stop command at any point of the machine. If an accidental loosening or break of the rope occurs, the normally closed contacts are forced open. The open position is maintained after operation, even if the rope is released.

The hinge operating shaft is designed to be in line with the rotation point of a guard door. As the door is rotated to an open position, the contacts are forced open and the control power of the machine is shut down.

This key-operated safety switch insures that the machine cannot be re-started until the key is installed into the switch. The removal of the key forces the normally closed contacts to open into a safe condition. Return of the key forces the open contacts to close for machine operation.
