GE Security Industrial offers a variety of products to the farm equipment industry as interlocks and position sensors. A typical application uses our 151 and 115 series switches on commercial lawn mowers to disable the blades when operators step off the machines. The switches are mounted on the frame of the mowers and the actuators are mounted underneath the seats. When the drivers sit on the seats, the actuators are lowered, actuating the switches and allowing the mowers to start. When the drivers get off the mowers, the seats spring up, disabling the mowers. A similar application uses switches to disable rotors when they are lifted off the grass.
